Direct connect inlets are available in various colors and designs. The typical direct connect inlet also known as super valve has a square door appearance as illustrated in the picture above. These inlets are typically installed under new construction or remodeling jobs. Both 110 volt and low voltage wires travel into the junction box/back mounting plate and then attach to the front door plate of the direct connect style inlet. The low voltage wires are connected to the two screws to the rear of the back pate as the 110 volt wires connect to two wires. The inlet on the front door allows for your electric hose to plug directly into the two pin female receptacle of the direct connect inlet. This is where the 110 voltage is drawn from to power your electric powered carpet attachment. Direct connect inlets alleviate the need for any extension cords or power cords. Using these direct connect electrified inlets allow a simple one-step process to use your powered central vacuum attachments. Direct connect inlets are sold complete with mounting bracket and face plate.
